As soon as I heard that Jamie Oliver was opening a resturant in Brisbane, I couldn't wait to get in there and taste all of his delicious meals. After indulging in the honeycomb cannelloni and buffalo ricotta ravioli, I feel it is safe to say that Jamie did not dissapoint. The food was mouth wateringly good and left me wanting to go back to try some of the other dishes! The decor was fresh, innovative and quirky, giving the resturant a signature look and feel. You could feel the love and care that had been poured into the resturant to help create it's comforting and relaxed environment. To top it off, the staff were delightfully friendly and extremely knowledgable and helpful when asked to recommend dishes and flavour combinations of varying meals.
Before going to Jamie's new restaurant I had the perception that the menu would be based around very light and healthy meals. In other words heaps of creative main meal and salad dishes. To my surprise, this was not the case! The menu is instead focussed around providing hearty Italian meals in a healthy and innovative way. This was a lovely surprise as it shows the wonderful work Jamie Oliver is doing to educate the population that you don’t have to cut out all of your favourite meals but instead modify them with healthier ingredients and smaller portion sizes. The menu also had a large variety of meals and was reasonably priced, making it a must this summer. Be sure to book in advance though as this Restaurant is extremely popular.
